Ya Done Good, Leo

Leo plays the lead role as Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street (2013). The movie is based on the book The Wolf of Wall Street written by Jordan Belfort himself, about his rise to fortune and fall to the law. The movie starts off with Leo becoming a broker on Wall Street and being laid off. He then joins a smaller firm that sells penny stocks. Once he figures out he can make crazy money selling penny stocks, he decides to start his own company. This is where Jonah Hill comes in and works for Leo, becoming his best friend and business partner. Leo forms the company Stratton Oakmont and quickly makes millions of dollars scamming the rich and poor, which attracts the FBI to investigate him and his company. The movie wanted to be as close as possible to the real-life of Jordan Belfort, so The Wolf of Wall Street has more than its fair share of drugs, sex, and alcohol. Throughout the movie, Leo’s character begins to rely heavily on drugs, sex, and alcohol to function until he is finally arrested and forced into sobriety.

I really loved this movie not only because I love Leo, but because it showed the dirty truth about business and what people will do to get rich. I recommend anyone to watch it because of the great performances of Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill, both of which received Oscar nominations for these roles.  This movie is highly entertaining for all 180 minutes of it.
