" Hey Upper East-Siders, Gossip Girl here" is how every episode of Gossip Girl starts. Based on the hit book series, this television series chronicles the fictional lives of teenagers growing up on the Upper East side of Manhattan. I'd first like to point out that none of the characters actually look like they are supposed to be 16 when the show starts. They are all way too pretty (Blake Lively!). Anyway, they start out in high school with the usual high school drama, but these are no ordinary teenagers. All of them, with the except for Dan (aka Lonely Boy), are pretty much filthy rich. The unknown character of Gossip Girl narrates the series. The blog that Gossip Girl writes spills all the characters' secrets of backstabbing, sabotage, and revenge. Eventually the characters graduate high school and continue the drama into college. Oh and the romance! At one point or another, practically all the main characters have dated or hooked up at some point. Although I am normally one to roll my eyes are such petty drama, I found myself constantly craving the next show because I had to find out what happened. My roommates and I would binge watch on the weekends because we couldn't watch an episode without each other. Back to the story line. The whole time the characters, besides stabbing each other in the back, are trying to figure out Gossip Girl is. When her true identity is revealed, I was quite shocked. I won't say who it is because that ruins the whole thing.
Guess you'll just have to watch for yourself.
XOXO
