Dogs with Jobs

Deep into Netflix is a show, Dogs with Jobs. Guess what it's about. That's right; dogs who have jobs. I am not making this up. There's a total of 26 episodes each featuring  two or three dogs. These dogs do a variety of jobs like fire-fighting, different types of service dogs, search and rescue, mascots, and sled dogs. I stumbled across this by accident. I watched some episodes every now and then. It usually happens when I miss my dog. All of the dogs are very cute and their stories make you feel good inside. The one down side to watching Dogs with Jobs is the narrator's voice sounds boring and it bothers me to listen to it for long periods of time. This show would be great for children and all the dog lovers out there. I give it two paws up!

Brad Pitt vs. Zombies

For some reason, our generation is obsessed with zombies and end-of-the-world scenarios. I believe that a large part of this obsession comes from the media and popular culture. In the past decade, zombie movies and TV shows have been coming out left and right. From The Walking Dead to I Am Legend to Warm Bodies, the zombie craze is spreading like wildfire.

World War Z seemed like just another stupid zombie movie to me until I watched it. Just like all the other zombie movies and TV shows, the movie starts off with the world seeming normal and fine until all hell breaks loose one day and zombies are running around eating everyone. Brad Pitt plays the role of Gerry Lane, an ex-United Nations secret agent. He lives with his wife and two daughters in Philadelphia. They get caught in the middle of the chaos and seek refuge in an apartment building where they are rescued and transported by helicopter to an aircraft carrier. Gerry is forced to relive his past and go on a deadly mission to find the source of the disease so they can stop the infection. The rest of the movie is all about his mission and whether or not he saves humanity.

I really enjoyed World War Z because it had a unique plot compared to the other zombie movies. Throughout the whole movie, I was unsure if Brad Pitt was going to make it out alive and if he was even going to find a cure to the disease. One downfall to the movie was the computer-generated zombies; they were too unrealistic for me (as if zombies were realistic in the first place). Anyways, I recommend this movie on Netflix because it’s a thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

Side Note: I strongly believe that Brad Pitt is exactly like his role in real life. He’s a sensitive family man who rocks long hair and scarves, but is also a licensed killer. You go, Brad.

30 Rock Rocks!

First of all, can I be Tina Fey? Second of all, 30 Rock is hilarious. Tina Fey plays the character of Liz  Lemon who is the main writer for a show, "The Girlie Show." (A show within a show? It's not that confusing.) She has to manage a dysfunctional cast and crew as well as answer to a boss (played by Alec Baldwin) with a big ego who gives advice in the weirdest ways. Lemon struggles to balance work life with her home and romantic life. The romantic life cause quite hilarity throughout the show and causes Lemon to take great comfort in food. "I'm going to go talk to some food about this." is one of Lemon's favorite things to say. The two main stars of "The Girlie Show" never get along and are about as dumb as rocks but still very funny. We also cannot forget about Kenneth the page who keeps the cast somewhat sane. This show has a slight dimension of female empowerment as Fey's character struggles to be taken seriously as the head boss lady. At the end of the show, Lemon's life finally all seems to come together and everyone goes home happy.

30 Rock is to Tina Fey as Parks and Rec is to Amy Poehler. 30 Rock came first though.
